It sounds like a massive cliché, but the best advice I’ve been given and adhere to is believing in myself, being genuine and nice. If you believe in who you are, what you want to achieve, and visualize it, you can do amazing things.

Most closets are in the bedroom which is great. The room has soft furnishings already in it (e.g.: beds, curtains, rugs, clothes). Standing in front of the open closet is optimal or if you have a walk-in, even better. Make a part in the clothes on hangers and place your mic (whether its on a shelf or a mic stand) in between the parted clothes without letting the clothes touch the microphone. Additional blankets behind, to the sides, and above you are ideal. The goal is to absorb as many reflections from the room as possible.

Without the internet around to provide an unbroken timeline of artistic events to a potentially endless landscape of wandering eyes, records that couldn’t achieve access to a viable fanbase in the 1980s have mostly, inevitably found themselves buried in the sands of time forever. Many creative masterworks, no matter how well-appreciated at the time of their initial pressing — if mismanaged by independent, boutique labels that couldn’t stay afloat financially — have either approached or gone completely off the cliff edge of existence. But thanks to the interplay between user-submitted content on the web and the way platforms help listeners discover it, some records do actually manage to climb back out of the sand.
Admitting that no music is truly 100% original (even the great composers of classical music borrowed ideas from their predecessors and contemporaries), consider which artists you draw influence from and what elements of their music you find to be most similar, inspiring, and relatable to your vision.

It’s an ever-fluctuating continuum. Sometimes an idea will pop into my head completely orchestrated and ready to be written down, and other times it’ll just be a little scrap — something I have to sit down and futz around with for hours before achieving any sense of clarity about what exactly I should do with it. Orchestration has always been my favorite part of the writing process, and I enjoy trying to figure it all out, digging and finding the information already hidden in a piece of musical material that will guide my decisions about how to treat it.
This may also include signed letters from employers. For example, my wife was also a 1099 employee at the time, as a nanny. Our lender asked for letters from her bosses stating that she was currently employed and would be for the foreseeable future. Depending on your situation, you many need a letter from your publisher. It just depends on how far down the rabbit hole they want to go.
And according to the probe tone experiments, most people also probably recognize that the notes 1, 3, and 5 are also going to be pretty important in the melody. Houston’s song “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” is not in the aforementioned key of C major, but it is in a different major, the key of G♭ major, and this tonal hierarchy works in any key, so let’s use the numbers and look at it the way we’d look at any song on Earth.
But whether you’ve got an entire history behind your genre or you want to establish your artistic image with a unique brand and identity unto yourself, typography should be one of the first elements you consider as you execute your album and poster artwork.
